Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang has accused Intel of unfair pricing, but stopped short of seeking antitrust action against the chipmaker.

Huang claims Nvidia partners who opt for the Ion platform are forced to pay $45 per Atom CPU, while Intel sells the Atom/chipset three chip combo for just $25.

"That seems pretty unfair," said Huang. "We ought to be able to compete and serve that market."

Intel says it competes fairly, and that it does not force customers to buy Atom bundles. However, Intel spokesman Bill Calder ads that partners get better pricing if they purchase the chipset.

Nvidia is not planning legal action at this point. "I hope it doesn't come down to that," said Huang. "We have to do whatever we have to do when the time comes. We really hope this company (Intel) will compete on a fair basis."
