According to Guy Kewney, who is a well known hack in the UK, Apple will be making an announcement about it's iPhone in Europe this coming Monday. But the real scortcher isn't the fact that there will be an announcement so soon after the US launch, but the fact that the European version will aparently come with 3G.

Very little information is otherwise known about any other possible changes to the European version that is meant to be available towards the end of the year.

However, it seems like Apple has a different strategy in Europe, as it will be working together with Vodafone, T-Mobile Germany and Carphone Warehouse

Carphone Warehouse will aparently be carring the iPhone as an virtual network carrier, so it seems like it will be impossible to pick one up without some kind of a network tie-in.

It will be interesting to see if this information is correct on Monday and if so, it looks like the iPhone might just have a much better success rate in the European market, depending on pricing of course.
