Exoduses seem to be a thing at X now; Musk’s advertisers are also going after an anti-Semitic scandal.
The social media company formerly known as Twitter has faced a series of resignations from staff, including senior and junior employees, amid what has undoubtedly been a chaotic month for the site and its owner.
Word on the street is that sales staff began exiting the company shortly after X handed out bonus checks this month.
X operates with a skeleton staff at its office, although it is still determined how long the company can rely on necromancy to keep it going. The advertising division needs to gain money.
On Wednesday night, Musk went on a defiant rant during a bizarre interview with Andrew Sorkin at the DealBook Summit, where he told advertisers Disney, IBM, and Apple, who have fled the platform, to "Go f*ck yourself."
Musk also said he did not care if the advertisers withheld their dollars because that is the logic you have when you are a business genius because it is bound to woo them back begging.
"The whole world will know that those advertisers killed the company, and we'll document it in great detail," the X owner said.
Musk's comments come after he boosted an antisemitic post on X earlier this month and faced an onslaught of criticism. (He later apologised for the post on Wednesday, calling it "foolish.")
