Runs a competition

The US
government desperately needs 10,000 geeks to help its cyber security efforts and has decided to run a competition to find recruits.

James Christy, director of future exploration at the Defense Cyber Crime Center and a former security officer in the Air Force is conducting a national competition and talent search to find 10,000 security experts for the entire government. Originally the government was planning a national cyber Olympics, however this idea has been scaled back a bit.

In fact the whole initiative has been scaled back with entries only allowed from the US continent because organisers can't afford to fly geeks from Alaska and Hawaii for the finals. The competitions involve developing tools and techniques for cyber security and hacking.
