$80 price tag for the Game Stop only exclusive

When Forza 3 hits retail shelves in October, it will also be available in a very limited edition version that will be exclusive only to those that buy it from Game Stop. According to the Game Stop manager that we talked to, the Limited Edition version will only be available as a pre-order, and no additional copies are expected to be available.

Limited Editions and Special Editions of titles have become all the rage as of late, with most of the major players trying to land Limited or Special versions of major titles from publishers. While it is still unclear how much effect these Limited or Special versions impact sales, it does seem that especially with sequels, fans of a title are willing to pay more for a Limited or Special Edition of a title for the extra stuff included that makes the extra cost worth it.

As for the Forza 3 Limited Edition, the pre-order bonus is one of the best that we have seen in some time and does a good job of offering some cool branded extras with exclusive useful additions that will enhance the actual play of the game.

The Forza 3 Limited Edition includes: Custom 2GB Forza 3 USB flash drive, Forza Motorsport VIP Membership, 5 special cars that are only available with the Forza Motorsport VIP Membership, Exclusive Collectors Edition Car Pack that includes 5 special cars that are tuned and hand painted by the team at Turn 10, a special 2010 Audi R8 V10 that was chosen by the community, and, of course, an exclusive premium Forza Motorsports 3 dashboard theme.

While Game Stop will have an exclusive on this package, you can either order it from their Web site or at your local Game Stop store. The cost for the Limited Edition of Forza 3 will be $79.99 and you can book your pre-order right away.
