Globalfoundries has received the final town approval for its planned plant in Malta, NY.
After reviewing the plans for months, the town Planning Board granted
final site approval for the 1.3 million-square-foot facility at the
Luther Forest Technology Campus.
The decision paves the way for construction, and a ground
breakingceremony will be held at the site on July 24th. If all goes
well, construction will be finished in 2011, while full production is
expected sometime in 2012.
The company also announced that it has completed its senior management team, by appointing Ron
Dickinson as vice president for enterprise quality.
