No need for glasses
A camera that takes 3D
video and pictures without the need for special glasses will go on sale in
Europe this September.
Fuji's £570 FinePix REAL 3D W1 camera has two
lenses whose images are merged in a single 3D image. If you want you can
stump up an additional £390 for a special digital viewing screen to see the
image.The V1 display, it's got a 3D / 2D LCD panel with 800 x 600
resolution, supports playback of 3D pics and movies, and supports SD /
SDHC.
If you're wanting physical 3D prints, Fujifilm says it'll be providing
that service, doing the prints in-house and mail them too you. However
at least you will not need glasses to look at your holiday snaps.
The two
lenses can be used for some more creative, but old-fashioned 2D
photography.
Fujifilm is competing with larger rivals such as Canon and
Sony, aims to sell 100,000 units of the new model in a year.
