The new HTPC GD03 case

Silverstone
has announced its latest addition to the Grandia line of HTPC cases, the GD03. The new case supports ATX motherboards, has seven expansion slots and can even be equipped with a standard ATX power supply.

The case measures 425 x 182.2 x 436 mm (WxHxD) and weighs 7.85kg, which is quite large and heavy for an HTPC case, but it does support both ATX motherboard and power supply. The specifications include two external 5.25-inch drive bays and three external 3.5-inch bays. Two of the mentioned 3.5-inch bays support hot-swap function for HDDs. In addition to those external bays, the GD03 can also take up to five 3.5-inch hard drives with a vibration dampening system.

The case is cooled by dual 80mm fans positioned at the back and according to the specification list it can aslo take two 80mm fans in the front HDD fan bracket and two 80mm fans on the side. The front panel is made out of brushed aluminum, while the rest of the case is made out of 0.8mm SECC steel.

The case should be available by the middle of August and should retail at around €190.
