Hackers have unleashed a DoS attack against micro-blogging site Twitter Thursday night, bringing service down for two hours, and severely disrupting Facebook in a separate attack.
Both sites are currently up and running, but continue to fend off
hordes of zombie bots. Although Facebook wasn't brought down by the
attack, service was severely disrupted.
User data was not at risk, says Facebook, and it's was probably more secure than ever, as few people could access the site.
Due to their popularity, both Twitter and Facebook have faced various
attacks and hacks in the past, but the latest attack clearly shows that
even the biggest sites are susceptible to relatively unsophisticated
brute force attacks.
