It is probably
just iPods
While Apple deals with exploding iPods and iPhones in
Europe, it has got its tame press speculating on the launch of another new
product back home.
Apparently Apple has booked the hall for another media
event and rather than reporting about the exploding iPhones, the tame press is
wondering what Jobs' Mob will launch next. Smart money is that Apple is just going to release
another iPod range.
Given that iPods are fast dropping out of fashion we are
not holding our breath over this one. We doubt it will be exciting unless the
thing explodes as Steve Jobs is showing it off. Apple declined to say what products would be featured at
the September 9 event, in a desperate bid that the speculation could wipe the
story about the exploding iPhones off the headlines.
However the invitation featured an iPod and the tagline:
"It's only rock and roll, but we like it," is a reference to a
Rolling Stones song so it appears to be music related. Alongside the launch Apple is going to release the ninth
generation of its proprietary iTunes media management software.
We guess really that the only surprise will be if Chief
Executive Steve Jobs will turn up for his first public appearance since his
liver transplant. Well they have to have
some draw to get the few press who use real computers to attend.
