When it comes to huffing and puffing to cool down the CPU, Noctua is a company that surely comes into mind as these guys made some quite good and high performance coolers and are certainly up in the top five when it comes to air cooling. Today, Noctua has released the successor to its highly praised NH-U12P cooler, the dual heatsink NH-D14.

With 160x140x158mm (HXWXD) dimensions and a 900g weight (without fans), the NH-D14 features a total of six copper heatpipes, a dual radiator aluminium heatsinks and included two fans.

Last week, Noctua has announced its new NF-P14 FLX 140mm fan which is now bundled with the NH-D14, along with the NF-P12, which is a 120mm fan. Both fans feature Vortex-Control Notches, SCD technology and SSO-Bearings. The 140mm NF-P14 FLX is placed between two heatsinks and spins at 1300RPM while the smaller 120mm NF-P12 can spin up to 1200RPM.

According to Noctua's CEO, Mag. Roland Mossig, the new NH-D14, set to work in Ultra-Low-Noise mode can outperform the older NH-U12P set to work at full fan speed, which is quite an achievement, especially considering the fact that NH-U12P was a very good cooler.

The NH-D14 comes with Noctua's SecuFirm2 multi-socket mounting system and is compatible with Intel's LGA 775, 1156, 1366 as well as AMD's AM2(+) and AM3 processors. It is bundled with NT-H1 thermal compound and should be available in retail/e-tail in next few weeks with a US $84.90 / €74.90 price tag.
