Gitex 2008: 400MHz with Windows CE

A company
called Jointech has shown off its J-PRO mini laptop JL7100 and it will sell it for only $99. We wrote about it back in July, here. This machine has a 400MHz CPU, 7-inch TFT screen and 1GB SD storage space. It comes with three USB ports, 1VGA out, one LAN connector and it weighs only 800 grams with the battery.

The company claims 4-hour battery life from its 7.4V 2000mAH battery and this is by far the cheapest netbook we've come across yet. It doesn’t run XP, but the company promises you it will run Word, Excel, Powerpoint, MSN, Internet Explorer and some other programs without any issues.

The company also offers the JL7200, which has the same specs as the model above and adds Wifi support, and there is a more expensive version with a 533MHz CPU, 8-inch display, 128MB RAM and 8GB NAND drive called JL7300.

The top model JL777 runs Windows XP and it has AMD LX-800 CPU, 512MB DDR one memory, 7-inch display, 8GB SSD drive and 4400 nAh battery, all packed in 800 grams; but this one is naturally more expensive than the entry-level sub-$100 one.

This is finally a super cheap toy that can get you on the Internet and promises some nice battery life.
