The 1.75 firmware update for the PlayStation 4 that we recently told you that Sony was preparing has been released. The biggest part of the 1.75 firmware update for the PlayStation 4 is the addition of 3D Blu-ray support, which matches the 3D Blu-ray support that Microsoft is expected to add with the August update for the Xbox One that should arrive in the next week or two.
Beyond the 3D Blu-ray support, sound quality has been improved for the 1.5x playback of Blu-ray and DVD discs. Now PlayStation 4 users will be able to set the console to automatically download Featured Content while the system is in standby mode.
Messages that are displayed in the top right of the screen have been moved over to the top left. The reason for this change is unknown, but it is something new none the less.
