Fourth generation of IceQ cooling

HIS has officially launched its latest addition to the IceQ lineup of graphics cards, the HIS HD 4850 IceQ4 card. Unfortunately, the card is still working at reference clocks, 625MHz for the core and 1,986MHz for 512MB of GDDR3 memory. On the other hand, you do get a card that will certainly be less hot and less noisy than the reference one.

The card is cooled by the fourth generation of the IceQ cooling. According to the press release, the new IceQ cooling should bring increased cooling capacity of up to 20 percent under load. As was the case with previous IceQ cooling series, this one also transforms the card to a dual-slot solution with the ability to push the hot air out of the case.

The card is not yet available in Europe, but we will keep our eye out as we hope that the price will not be much higher when compared to the reference cooled cards.
