EA Games and Sega on board

Earlier today AMD officially announced that it's working with several game developers on a new generation of DirextX 10.1 games.

Electronic Arts Phenomic Studio is developing Battleforge, an online RTS; SEGA is going real-time military strategy with Stormrise, while NHN is working on Cloud 9, a role-playing game.

"Using DirectX 10.1 and AMD’s graphics technology will enable Battleforge to look its absolute best," claims Dirk Ringe, Vice President, EA Phenomic. Meanwhile, SEGA says its Stormrise will be one of next year’s most technologically advanced titles.

Kevin Ungast, Global Director of Microsoft Games, is welcoming AMD's support of DirectX 10.1 and praising it for bringing Microsoft's latest technology to the market.

While all this is good news for AMD, DirectX 10.1 still has a long way to go.
