Most partners are ready

Nvidia has
launched the budget minded Geforce 9400GT and it seems like all its partners are more or less ready to flog this latest rebadged GPU, as the Geforce 9400GT isn't anything else than an overclocked Geforce 8500GT.

So, where to start? Let's do this in alphabetical order, so Albatron gets first with its 9400GT-512, which features 512MB of 667MHz (1,334MHz effectively) DDR2 memory as the name suggests and a GPU speed of 550MHz. The card also has a DVI, D-sub and TV-out connector and it uses a small fan to aid the cooling of the GPU.

Asus has two cards, although we don't have much in terms of details on either, as Asus hasn't posted the specs on its Website as yet. First up is the passively cooled EN9400GT Silent/HTP/512M, which as crazy, as it might sound im a dual slot card with a large passive heatsink. The card has 512MB of memory, we presume it's DDR2 and a DVI, D-sub and TV-out connector. The second card is the EN9400GT/HTP/1G which has the same connectivity options, but comes with 1GB of memory, again we presume DDR2 and a small fan cooler, which makes this a single slot card.

Gigabyte calls its card the GV-N94T-512H, which has 512MB of DDR2 memory, a pair of DVI ports and a TV-out connector; and it comes with a DVI to HDMI dongle in the box. The card is cooled by a larger fan than some of the other cards, but we don't have any clock speeds of this card at the moment.

Leadtek has gone down a similar route to Asus, with one passively cooled and one fan cooled model. The difference being that Leadtek's passive cooler allows for the card to fit in a single slot. Both cards have a single DVI, D-sub and TV-out connector. The WinFast PX9400 GT as the cards are called (fan or passive edition), comes with a 575MHz core clock and a fairly modest memory speed of 500MHz (1,000MHz effectively).

MSI has four cards, but they've gone down a slightly different route by adding an HDMI port in favor of an analog TV-out connectivity option on the cards, which also feature DVI and D-sub connectivity. MSI offers a passively cooled version, as well as a fan cooled version and MSI is also the only company that seems to have gone for a 256MB version with the N9400GT-MD256.

The 512MB version is strangely enough called the N9400GT-MD512, while an extra H on the end signifying the passively cooled versions. All four models seems to feature a 550MHz core clock and an 800MHz (1,600MHz effectively) memory speed, which seems to be some of the fastest memory out there on a Geforce 9400GT at the moment.

Point of View has gone for a pair of dual slot passively cooled cards as well, but also offers two which are fan cooled. As with Asus, Point of View figured that there's a market for a 1GB card and as such has a pair of cards with 1GB and a pair with 512MB of memory. The clock speed for the GPU is 550MHz and the memory on the 512MB versions are clocked at the same high 800MHz (1,600MHz effectively) as MSI's cards, while the 1GB cards gets to make do with 666MHz (1,332MHz effectively).

Finally, we have Zotac which has also gone for a fan cooled and a passive version. Both cards are clocked at 550MHz with the memory at 800MHz (1,600MHz effectively). Both cards features a DVI, D-sub and TV-out connector.

We would expect a few more partners to launch cards, but we don't expect to see anything out of the ordinary. For more details we suggest visiting the manufacturer’s Websites.
