MSI has also launched its 4600 series and it has two cards, at least for the time being. It launched the HD 4670 and HD 4650, and both cards feature a similar dual-slot cooler design. The HD 4670 is not a standard dual-slot design, as it might take up only one and a half slots; but it's still not a single-slot card.
The faster one, branded as MSI R4670-2D512/D3, is based on ATI's RV730XT GPU which works at 750MHz. This card has 320 Stream processors, comes with 512MB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 2,000MHz and paired up with 128-bit memory interface. It's also HDMI capable via a DVI-HDMI adapter, which will probably be included with the card. The card is cooled by a copper-based heatsink and a small fan.
The second card, branded MSI R4650-D512, is based on the RV730Pro core clocked at 600MHz and this card comes with 512MB of GDDR2 memory clocked at 1,000MHz. It has 320 Stream processors, as well, and has a similar copper-based heatsink. MSI decided to ditch the TV-Out port on both of these cards, so the HD 4670 will have only two DVI's, while the HD 4650 will have a D-Sub and a DVI.
At the moment, MSI is offering the cheapest HD4600 cards around, at least according to the listings on Geizhals.at, as the HD 4670 is currently listed at €63.60 while the HD 4650 is listed at €61.21.
