So says Intel

Intel plans to support Windows 7 with its G4x series of chipsets. Intel believes that its 4 series of chipsets and platforms based on it will slip to mainstream and value into 2011, but there might be one additional refresh of this chipset platform in 2009.

The graphics part of 4 series will be Windows 7 ready with WDDM 1.1 drivers that will be available, with the OEM distribution of the operating system. Many people might forget that Windows 7 is based on Vista, and should be looked at as an updated version of the not-so-popular Windows Vista.

Since 4-series chipsets are good enough for Vista, the same is to be expected of Windows 7's pretty interface.
