New cards did the trick

According to a few Nvidia partners, sales picked up dramatically in January, and they did much better than in the last months of Q4 2008.

Even the super high end Geforce GTX 295 is selling well, and GTX 260 and GTX285 were selling well too. Naturally Nvidia partners make a lot of money on Geforce 9800, 9600 and especially on 9500GT / GS based cards and this month was no exception.

Cards like the Geforce 9600 GT and 9500GT with 1GB memory are selling like hot cakes, and despite the fact that 1GB memory doesn´t make the card faster than 512MB, the general perception is that more memory is always better. The confidence in Nvidia is slowly getting back, and 40nm will be the key transition for both major graphics players.
