Another card gets rebadged

We're getting mighty tired of Nvidia's renaming game and the latest card to get a new name is the Geforce 9800 GTX+ which will be getting its name changed to Geforce GTS 250. It seems like the only difference between the two will be a new BIOS which Nvidia will be sending out to its customers in time for mass production.

This "new" card is expected to make an appearance during CeBIT when Nvidia is set to unveil it. Although it's not really much of a product announcement now, is it? Expreview is also suggesting that the good old Geforce 8800GT (also known as the Geforce 9800GT) will get a name change to Geforce GTS 240 at the same time.

We're not sure how long Nvidia is going to keep playing this game, but it doesn't look like the company is ready to release anything new for now. Sure, we're aware of the current economic climate and the fact that Nvidia haven't been doing too well as of recently, but this is just getting plain silly now. Sure, people expect new products every six months from the graphics card companies, but this is their own fault as at the height of the battle between Nvidia and ATI, this was how things were done. Now it seems like both companies have slowed down and prefer to play the renaming game instead of making new cards.
