Cuda, 3D stereo and Physx

Jensen has told the financial community that when it comes to 3D gaming market, Nvidia feels good. The company’s last 55nm addition to its GTX2x0 roadmap did change things to Nvidia’s advantage and ATI is now weaker by two.

Jensen mentioned that it has three things the competition doesn’t. The first thing on his list is Cuda as the believes that one day Nvidia will start making serious money based on this technology.

The second thing is 3D stereo that the company launched in USA and it will soon launch it in Europe. This is something that looks nice but the cost is too high to justify the investment. Monitor and glasses will cost you approximately $500 if not even more but we are sure that some people will go for it.

The third thing potentially has the best chances to succeed and it is called PhysX. This feature dramatically changes the game play and the game will look more exciting as for the first time, you can get the life like looking physics to back up already stunning graphics.

Jensen is sort of right, ATI doesn’t have any of these features as ATI might have its own alternative to Cuda and it believes in the power of OpenCL and for 3D monitors and graphics they collaborate with one of the monitor manufactures. The only thing that ATi really doesn’t have is PhysX and for that you need Cuda.
