40nm for €129.90

A reader
was nice enough to inform us that a brave German retailer dared to list a card branded as Radeon HD 4750, the first 40nm desktop card. As far as we know this card should show later in Q2, but according to Schottenland the card should be available for €129.90 and it can be pre-ordered today.

We are not sure about the listed specification but here you go anyway. The card should work at 650MHz core and 512MB of GDDR5 memory works at an impressive 3200MHz. Remember, that card has a 128-bit memory interface, but GDDR5 has twice the bandwidth of GDDR3 and this should help in providing enough bandwidth.

The card should use only 78W and if this turns to be true, it is at the upper limit of what the PCIe slot can deliver 75W. This means it might even work without an external power connector.

Anyway the card is listed here and if you can per-order one, even we are sure that ATI will give someone in this alleged Scottish (cheap) shop a call and force it down, sooner rather than later.
