A bit slower than GTX 285

Guys from Gamestar.de site managed to get their hands on the Radeon HD 4890 card without signing an NDA, and decided to publish a review of it. The card should officially be announced tomorrow, April 2nd.

According to game tests done at Gamestar.de, the Radeon HD 4890 sometimes manages to pull ahead of the GTX 285, but only in some games and at certain resolutions. The sample used in the review easily reached 1,000MHz for the core and and 1,190 for memory, but this might be an isolated case, as we are not sure that every card could reach those clocks. Gamestar.de did note that, when overclocked, the fan gets quite noisy.

In any case, everything should be crystal clear tomorrow, when GTX 275 reviews go live and when we see a head to head battle between these two cards.

You can find the review here.
