Updated: Aluminum encased beast

We managed to score yet another picture of Sapphire's upcoming HD 4890 Atomic Edition card. The card will be cooled by Sapphire's Vapor-X cooler based on vapor chamber technology and work at 1GHz for the GPU.

As it was the case with previously launched Atomic Edition cards, this one will also be packed in an exclusive Atomic aluminum case. The card will have 1GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 1,050MHz (4,200MHz). The rest of the specifications and features are unchanged and the card will have 800 stream processors, 256-bit memory interface and will support ATI's CrossfireX.

The card should be officially announced on May 13th. The price should easily go over €250 in Europe, but this is a premium card that should probably be the fastest and coolest Radeon around.

Update: Sapphire has informed us that the new Atomic Edition HD 4890 will not be packed in an aluminum case, but in a box painted to look like an aluminum case. This will fix many problems with shipping and customs, but will also take away some of the exclusivity from the Atomic Edition.
