We found out that the "new design" HD 5770 will have a same price as the old one with a blower fan, and this simply gives AMD the chance to earn a bit more money until partners manage to get some non-reference cards to the channel.

As you had a chance to see before, the new HD 5770 has the same shroud as the HD 5750 and a Zalman-esque cooler below it. This card comes from AMD, and shouldn't be considered a non-reference card, as the only thing that AMD changed is a cooler while the PCB remained unchanged. According to one of the partners this card has been shipping to retailers/e-tailers for a while.

Apparently the new cooler is cheaper than the blower fan that was happily cooling the HD 5770 on the launch day, and with the same price, AMD will certainly earn a bit more money from this card.
