Lower clocks, penguins rejoice

Like every other Nvidia partner, Zotac is doing everything in its power to kill some time while waiting for almighty Fermi, so it has decided to launch a couple of penguin friendly GTS 250 cards, the GTS 250 Eco series.

The GTS 250 Eco series will be available in two versions, one with 512MB of GDDR3 memory and the one with 1GB of it. Both cards feature the same clocks, pack 128 stream processors and a 256-bit memory interface.

Both cards still need an additional 4-pin PCI-Express power but should have a bit lower power consumption thanks to lower clocks. The cards work at 675MHz for the core, 1620MHz for shaders and 2000MHz for memory.

Both cards are features a dual-slot design, DVI, D-Sub and HDMI outputs. The price should be around €100 but we are still not sure when these will appear on the market.
