For graphics intensive embedded markets

AMD has implemented its ATI Radeon E4690, which was launched back in June 2009, on the MXM PCB. The new E4690 MXM features the same specs as the previously released E4690 but this time comes on the MXM 3.0 specification PCB.

The new E4690 MXM measures 70 x 82mm and it's made in a 55nm manufacturing process. The full specifications include scalable GPU and GDDR3 memory with speeds of up to 600MHz and 700MHz, 320 stream processors, 512MB of on-chip memory, 128-bit memory interface and ATI's UVD 2.0.

It supports PCI-Express 2.0 x1, x2, x4, x8 and x16 interface and features four single or two Dual-Link, one single or dual-link LVDS, Displayport, four HDMI (one active at a time) and two RGB outputs, all of which are only limited by MXM connector pin-out.

It features full DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 3.1 support and has a TDP from 8W (clocked at 150MHz for core and 250MHz for memory) to 25W (at 600/700MHz clock).

AMD plans a 5 year supply period and this little PCB certainly opens up a lot of possibilities considering its specifications and features. You can find more details here.
