The new HD 5870 PCS++

Powercolor has announced the newest member of its PCS series, the HD 5870 PCS++. The PCS++ series features higher than usual factory overclock and should have a much better overclocking potential.

The new HD 5870 PCS++ still has 1600 Stream processors and works at 950MHz for the core and features 1GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 4800MHz. The new PCS++ HD 5870 uses the same cooler seen on previous overclocked HD 5870 cards from Powercolor and features dual slot design with a center placed 92mm fan and four copper heatpipes.

The new cooler should provide temperatures that are up to 15°C lower than on the reference card and with a 100MHz factory overclock for the GPU, this card should be quite a performer.

The new PCS++ HD 5870 should appear in retail/e-tail as of April 20th with a US $449 suggested price.
