Gitex 2008: GT100, etc.

We don't know when it will start, but Nvidia wants to change the way it brands its cards. GTX 280 and 260 were the first step and now we are hearing that G92-based cards might get renamed to the GT100-series.

There will be a GT50 series, something for the low-end and this will make Nvidia's roadmap a bit clearer than it is today. You have cards such as Geforce 9800GTX and GTX+ where the first is based on 65nm G92 and the other is on G92b, a 55nm version of the chip, and this is not so easy to follow unless you are completely in touch with the graphics market.

The new branding should start shortly.
