Cebit 2010: Nvidia keeps it tight

Nvidia
is still keeping the final specs for its Fermi cards for itself, and although some of the performance rumours have been published, they are either based on estimates or the specs that partners currently have.

Partners only got the dimensions of the card and now know about the final cooling design. The rest of the specs are safely locked up at Nvidia. The only official thing that came from Nvidia and that has something to do with performance is the fact that one of the cards will end up 20 to 30 percent faster than the GTX 285, and the slide that we wrote about yesterday, which shows that GTX 480 is faster than HD 5870 but only in some situations.

Although Nvidia pointed out that GTX 480 gave double the amount of FPS when the actual GPU was under full load and with a lot of details to render, there is still a fact that these info came directly from Nvidia and that we would rather wait and see it for ourselves.

In any case, the launch date is still 26th of March, and we'll know for sure then.
