Support for GTX 580, nothing else

Nvidia has rolled out a rather pointless Geforce 262.99 driver update that only includes the support for GTX 580 card. To make things worse, the new driver doesn't support any other card, or to be precise cards, and doesn't bring any performance updates, at least none that we are aware of.

The release notes for the new Geforce 262.99 WHQL driver includes added support for the Geforce GTX 580, Nvidia PhysX Software v9.10.0514 and HD audio driver v1.1.9.0, or simply, something that is not new but rather something that was seen on previous driver versions. Although we understand that Nvidia had to release a driver with support for its new flagship card, we guess that an updated INF would be enough rather than a full driver update.

If you were out shopping yesterday and managed to buy the GTX 580, you can find and download the "new" driver here.
