Following in Sapphire's footsteps, it looks that HIS will be another partner that will be releasing a 1GB version of the Radeon HD 6950 card. AMD hasn't officially confirmed such a card, but for now it looks like that all partners will have one.

In addition to the less than original memory amount, the HIS Radeon HD 6950 1GB will also feature a custom cooler that has a center placed fan. Spec wise, the Radeon HD 6950 1GB will work at 800MHz for the GPU and 5000MHz for 1GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 256-bit memory interface. The card still has 1408 stream processors and it looks like that the BIOS switch is gone from this version.

The card still features support for AMD's Eyefinity and CrossFireX and features two DVI, HDMI and two mini DisplayPort outputs. Unfortunately, the price or the precise availability date haven't been announced but we are pretty sure that AMD will get this card on the market just before the launch of the GTX 560 Ti.
