Two Tahiti GPUs side by side

Although it was already previewed by Powercolor, Techpowerup.com managed to score some detailed pictures of Powercolor's latest Devil 13 graphics card, the HD 7970 X2 Devil 13. The new Devil 13 graphics card feature two 28nm Tahiti GPUs paired up on a single PCB and backed by a PLX PCI-Express 3.0 bridge chip.

The PCB of the new HD 7970 X2 Devil 13 is both taller and longer than your average HD 7970 and features a 5+2+1-phase VRM that draws power from no less than three 8-pin PCI-Express power connectors. It features a triple-fan, triple-slot cooler with a rather hefty heatsink. According to our info, the card should end up clocked at 925MHz and it will feature a total of 6GB of memory (3GB per GPU) clocked at 5.5GHz effective, but we are not sure if those are finalized.

The new HD 7970 X2 Devil 13 also feature a dual-BIOS switch that could take the GPUs all the way up to 1100MHz in "performance mode". The cards still comes with two DVI, HDMI and two mini-DisplayPort outputs.

The precise price has not been unveiled but a premium graphics card will most certainly have a premium price. You can check out more pictures here.
