How Geforce game bundles work

by on22 October 2013

What gets you $100 off Shield + 3 games?

We already wrote that Nvidia responded to AMD bundles with bundles of its own, but now we can share some details about how exactly to they work and what Nvidia has to offer.

In case you buy Geforce GTX 780, 770 or GTX Titan Nvidia is willing to offer you free downloadable copies of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins, and Splinter Cell Blacklist. You get three games and Nvidia will shave off $100 from the Shield retail price. This means you will get Shield for $199 and of course this bundle works for US consumers only.

In North America, participating retailers and e-tailers may also offer the Holiday Bundle with Shield, which includes Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins and Splinter Cell Blacklist, and $100 off the Shield retail price.

In case you get a cheaper card, or a previous generation card (600-series), or a cheaper 700-series card including GeForce GTX 660, 670, 680, 690, and 760 you will receive Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Splinter Cell Blacklist from participating retailers and e-tailers. Nvidia will shave off $50 from a Shield purchase for those who are interested.

Make sure you pay attention that these etailers or retailers are part of this promotion. The promotion starts on October 28th and ends on November 26th and Nvidia wants to boost its sales against the new (but mostly rebranded) AMD Rx200 series and Battlefield 4 bundles that are coming shortly.

We did the math and GTX 770 sells for $399 or slightly less, which gets you to $599 for the GTX 770 vanilla card and Shield which is not that cheap, but again you get three games Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins and Splinter Cell Blacklist.

This bundle should show up in Europe as well, but we are short on details right now.
