28nm Maxwell-based

According to our sources, Nvidia and its AIB partners are gearing up for a fresh launch of Geforce GTX 750 and Geforce GTX 750 Ti scheduled for February 18th.

In case you missed it earlier, the GTX 750 and the GTX 750 Ti will be Nvidia's first graphics cards based on the new Maxwell architecture, but also based on current 28nm manufacturing process, rather than 20nm node.

According to earlier leaked specifications, the Geforce GTX 750 Ti is based on the GM10x chip, packs 960 CUDA cores and features 2GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 128-bit memory interface. The Geforce GTX 750 on the other hand should have pretty much identical specifications as the GTX 650 (non-Ti).

According to our sources, we will be looking at anywhere between 5 to 10 percent performance improvement when compared to the GTX 650 (Ti) series, so in case you were looking for a new impressive chip, you will have to wait for a switch to TSMC's 20nm manufacturing process.

In any case, we will know for sure on February 18th.
