This time it's really available

Sapphire has announced a Radeon HD 2600 PRO AGP card. There is nothing new here, but it appears that that the cards are finally available. It is about time that AGP got a DirectX 10 card.

Specifications follow the reference design with the GPU clocked at 600MHz. The card comes equipped with 512MB of DDR2 memory that works at 800MHz on a 128-bit memory interface. As the entire HD 2600 series this card also has UVD and comes with a DVI to HDMI adapter. It looks like those dusty old AGP systems might actually become a good HTPC, and even play some of the new games at a reasonable resolution.

The card uses single slot cooling, and needs a 4-pin floppy connector for additional power. We managed to find this card at Alternate.de for a mere €89,99.
