Nvidia still hasn't officially talked about new Geforce 8800 GTS 512MB card based on G92, but the sharp eyes of one of our readers spotted it at Nvidia's Website.
Here is a quote from Nvidia’s own site. "HD DVD / Blu-ray Video Playback on NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB and 8800 GT is classified as Excellent. HD DVD / Blu-ray Video Playback on NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra, GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB/640MB are classified as Good." – You can find this ins foot note 5 on the site, a snapshop of which is included below.
First of all, Nvidia confirmed that 8800 GT and 8800 GTS 512MB will have a new video engine known as VP2, and, of course, this confirms that 8800 GTS 512MB is a new chip.
The link is here and we are sure Nvidia will take it down soon enough, but we've included a screenshot for you.
Updated: Nvidia got rid of the 8800GTS 512MB from the specification, so they sure read this.
