Running in CrossFire mode

Once again the US gets better things than Europe, and Legitreviews.com has a picture to prove it. They managed to score a picture of the Radeon HD 3870 x2 working in CrossFire, that's four RV670XT GPUs on two cards.

Nathan Kirch, Editor-In-Chief of Legit Reviews didn't want to talk about the details, but he did mention that since it is made up of two Radeon HD 3870 GPUs that it isn't too hard to figure it out. The most interesting thing is that these cards only have one Crossfire connector, so CrossFireX isn't possible, at least not for now.

The best feature on this card is that you don't need an expensive AMD 790FX based motherboard to have Quad Crossfire, as the 790X with two PCIe x16 slots will be enough. Back at the European launch event we managed to confirm that the MSI K9A2 Platinum will support four R680 cards and you can read about it here.
