166.98 incl. VAT ($344) is the best price

Nvidia was ranting about our articles that the GeForce 8800 GT is not available and claimed that it is available in the U.K. As we wrote back on Friday here, a few stores in the U.K. did get some 8800 GT cards.

OcUK has Asus, Gainward and PNY and these cards sell for between
£182.11 for the PNY and £187.99 including VAT, for the Asus and Gainward cards. You can buy them here.

Scan is selling Gainward's 8800 GT for
£193.73 Inc VAT, while ebuyer sells the same card for £181.48, including VAT. You can get one here.

Point Of View's 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 256bit Dual DVI PCI-E Graphics Card is selling for a very attractive £166.98, including VAT, and the company has 71 cards in stock. You can get one here.

The Brits are paying between €230 and €270 for a card and £193 translates to US$397.

Once you convert pounds into dollars, you can see that someone in the U.K .will pay much more than their American counterpart who can buy the same card for US$290, almost $100 less than in the UK. It is called the business of making money, and Nvidia wins and the U.K. consumers lose, but this has been the case for years.
