A tough price to beat

ATI’s Radeon 3650, the full DDR3 version, is available at a €75 retail price in Euroland. This is a great price, and this product is supposed to put more pressure on Geforce 8600GT, its main competitor.

ATI simultaneously launched Radeon HD 3850 DDR2, and it will end up some €15 / $20 less, so that should help it compete with the Geforce 8600GT DDR2.

We suspect that ATI plans another RV635 card, probably called Radeon HD 3870, to launch at greater speeds, as this should be possible with the new 55nm to reach over 800MHz.

Time will tell, but graphics are getting much more affordable these days.

Update

Two Sapphire HD3650 cards have been listed on Geizhals. Both cards are clocked at 725/830MHz core/memory, while the 512MB version is listed at 91 Euro. You can buy the 256MB version for only 76 Euro. You can check out the listings here and here.
