The Radeon HD 3830

According to HKEPC, AMD is considering launching yet another RV670 based card, altough this time with a 128-bit memory interface. The new card would be known as the Radeon HD 3830 and it should hit a retail price of around US$119-129.

It will retain all the features of the 38xx series, but the reduced memory interface would severly hamper the performance. The chips will be hard locked to 128-bit so that AMD's partners won't try to use them for higher end parts.

HKEPC claims that AMD intends to position this new cards somewhere between the 8600GT and the 9600GT and it's intended for more casual gamers and general users than the Radeon HD 3850. However, this might be a product only for Chinese market, just as 3670 was.
