AMD clearly said that it plans to make its version of what Nvidia calls Hybrid power, but it plans to introduce it for the notebook market. Nvidia’s Hybrid SLI starts with 780a desktop chipset that has already been delayed for months and drivers are to blame.
AMD representatives have hinted that there might be an possibility that AMD plans to bring this to desktop, but the current focus is notebook platforms. It looks like AMD has a big chance with its Puma platform and after Puma, in roughly a year time, it should be ready with Swift, a Fusion like product.
We believe that AMD will bring Hybrid power in its desktop products and platforms, but only after it makes it for notebooks. It simply makes more difference in notebooks.
