Worldwide market

The last iteration of the RV670 is actually going to be a low-cost one. Since we are expecting the RV770 in late Q2, ATI doesn’t have any plans to make the RV670 any faster, but it does have plans to make it slower and lower-priced.

We previously reported about the RV670-based Radeon 3830 and it looks as if the whole world might get access to this card. We believed that this card was going to be limited to China, but it looks like ATI will make the RV670 with a 128-bit memory interface, at lower cost, available for anyone who wants it.

This card will probably have to be priced between €50 and €100, and we would bet on a €70 to €80 price point as the cheapest HD 3650 sells for €50, while the cheapest HD 3850 sells around €100. The Radeon HD 3830 should be faster than the Radeon HD 3650, but it will definitely be slower than the Radeon HD 3850.

We expect to see this card in the weeks to come.
