A lot of memory and available

California-based Diamond Multimedia is the first ATI add-in board partner to launch a Radeon 3870 1GB card. You might remember that last summer Diamond did create the big fuzz about Radeon 2900 XT with 1GB memory and has decided to repeat this successful marketing stunt.

The card is a dual slot with PCIe 2.0 support and 1024MB od DDR3 memory clocked to 800MHz and the GPU is overclocked to 825MHz.

This is probably the last mainstream iteration of Radeon 3870 series in a mainstream segment and 1GB memory might bring a few frames more in some high resolutions or settings but do not expect miracles.

The card should be available in the leading U.S. e-tail stores but we still don't know the price.
