Not as fast as expected

VR-Zone has put the ASUS EAH3850 Trinity through its paces and it turns out that this monster three-way CrossFireX with three Radeon HD 3850 MXM modules isn't as fast as expected; although part of this might come down to AMD's drivers, as there seem to be some performance issues compared to a Radeon HD 3870 X2.

The card performs well in 3DMark, expecially in 3DMark06 where it manages to beat a Geforce 9800 GX2 with ease. However, once you start looking at real world game benchmarks, this card is rather disappointing.

Although the VR-Zone only ran Crysis, World in Conflict and Quake Wars on the three cards, the Trinity ends up at the bottom of the pile in just about all benchmarks. In theory, it should be faster than the HD 3870 X2, so hopefully this is something that can be resolved with some driver work, but the question is if AMD is willing to put in the resources into making better drivers for this Frankenstein card.
