Four models to come

MSI is prepping to officially announce its GTX 280 and 260 models. To be more precise, MSI is going to launch four models, two GTX 280 and two GTX 260 cards. As you have probably guessed, two of these models will be factory overclocked.

MSI's N280GTX-T2D1G is the reference clocked GTX 280 card that will work at 602MHz for the core, 1,296MHz for Shaders and 2,214MHz for 1GB of GDDR3 memory. On the other hand, the OC edition will be overclocked to 650MHz for the core, 1,300MHz for Shaders and 2,300MHz for memory. MSI is playing it safe with this OC edition, as it doesn't want to end up with a lot of RMAed cards, and according to them the safest way is to overclock it to 650MHz.

MSI is also going to announce two GTX 260 cards. The reference clocked one will work at 576MHz for the core, 1,242 for what Nvidia now likes to call processor Cores, and 1,998MHz for 896MB of GDDR3 memory. If you can remember this card features 448-bit memory interface. Unfortunately, the OC-edition is yet to be detailed but we expect a similar modest 50MHz GPU overclock, as well.

MSI's GTX 280 OC edition is currently listed here and the lowest price stands at €532,52. The lower clocked reference version is also listed and it sells for €497.37.
