Accelero Twin Turbo

Arctic Cooling has announced yet another graphics card cooler, the Accelero Twin Turbo. Unlike the Accelero Xtreme behemoth which featured three 80mm fans, the new Accelero Twin Turbo uses a rather modest dual-slot design with two low-noise 80mm fans.

The new Accelero comes with four heatpipes which are connected to 30 fins. These 30 fins are cooled by two 80mm PWM fans, which give the Accelero Twin Turbo airflow to 40CFM and up to 120 Watts of cooling capacity. With these specs, the new Accelero achieves 34°C lower temperature when compared to the Nvidia Geforce 9600GT reference cooler.

Unfortunately, Artic Cooling didn't show any results of this cooler in combination with ATI's HD 4800 series cards, but we are sure that is does a better job than the reference solution. The lower temperature isn't the only feature of this cooler, as it comes with a lower noise level, pre-applied MX-2 thermal compound, patented fan holder and six years of warranty.

It can be mounted on ATI's Radeon X1300 series, X1550, X1600, X1650, X1800, X1900, X1950, HD 2400, 2600, 3850, 3870, 4850 and 4870 as well as the Nvidia GeForce 6600, 6800, 7300, 7600, 7800, 7900, 7950GT, 8400, 8500, 8600, 8800 GT, 8800 GTS (G92) and 9600 GT.

Arctic cooling is marketing this newest addition as a cooler that supports the hottest graphics cards in the market, but for some reason this cooler doesn't support Nvidia's GTX 260 and 280 graphics cards. On the other hand, the new Accelero does support ATI's latest HD 4800 series cards and we are certainly hoping that one of the ATI AIB partners will soon have this one on their non-reference HD 4800 cards.

The new Accelero should be available sometime this month with a price tag set at US$34.95/22.95€ without VAT, and this is how it looks.
