Specs still not confirmed

According to our sources, Sapphire is working hard to get its TOXIC version of the HD 4850 card to market, and it might appear sooner than we expected.

Unfortunately, the specs are still scarce and we can only confirm that the card will be using Sapphire's own PCB and that it will come with a special cooler. The card will have 512MB of memory, and both the core and memory will be overclocked.

Sapphire has recently launched a 1GB version of the HD 4850 which also uses Sapphire's own PCB, but this card might not appeal to the market as it ends up quite expensive at about US$50 more than the 512MB version.

The Toxic version of the HD 4850 might easily become the markets favorite card and we hope that Sapphire is also considering non-reference versions of the HD 4870.
