Announces Geforce 8-series trio

Albatron
Technology has officially announced its most recent addition of graphics cards, all of which use a PCI interface. The cards are based on the Nvidia's 8600GT, 8500GT and 8400GS GPUs. We've already covered early versions of these low-profile cards just before Computex, and even back then it was quite a surprise that Albatron decided to go for this part of the market.

Both the 8600GT and the 8500GT PCI cards from Albatron comes with 256MB of DDR3 memory clocked at 800MHz paired up with 128-bit memory interface. Both cards have HDMI, DVI and TV-out connectors. The main difference is in the GPU and Shader clock as the 8600GT works at 540MHz for the core and comes with its Shaders clocked at 1,188MHz. The 8500GT works at 450MHz for the core with the Shaders clocked at 918MHz.

Unfortunately, the 8400GS based card, which might be very appealing due to its lower price, is still not listed on Albatron's web site, but we should also see this model very soon. According to the testing done by Albatron, the new PCI 8-series of cards can outperform Intel's GMA 915 integrated chipset by up to 1,329%. According to Albatron's press release, these cards are perfect for adding a third or a fourth monitor to your system.

Albatron has brought back the long forgotten PCI interface to VGA cards, and those that are stuck with integrated solutions might find these cards the best thing that happened in a long time.
