According to the not-so-confidential, at least not any more, slides that were posted at Tomshardware.tw, the R700 "Spartan", also known as the HD 4870 X2 with 2GB of GDDR5 memory might be launched on 12th of August, just as we wrote earlier.

The card should appear in retail sometime during the second half of August. Other noted details from the slides confirm that the card will indeed come with 2GB of memory, and that it will support DisplayPort, so we might see those as soon as partners get the green light to make their own designs.
